What might prototype racecars look like in the future? My assertion: even off in the future, the “car” is a self-propelled, ground-based wheeled vehicle with a human occupant. Car. Driver. Wheels. Onboard propulsion. Go.
The P099 LM has a lithe, minimum-weight chassis cell wrapped in the latest context-aware fully active composite body surfaces. It is powered by an ultra-compact and power-dense drivetrain; hybrid electric with capacitors and surface-interaction regen, synthetic hyper-compressed onboard fuel supply for the long-range combustion-based booster. As impressive as that is, power isn’t really the problem in 2099. It’s the human capacity for the G-forces involved over the long stints of the event which requires special genetic enhancements and training.
This build is pretty interesting: fully odd-stud 9 wide front and rear with a 10 wide center floor and odd-stud upper half, switching across arrays of open-stud plates. Some funky assemblies in there as well; ten of the horizontal body surfaces are angled on various clip connections and can pivot to manage airflow, downforce, and cooling.
I will be tracking part-color availability and adding more color themes as they become possible. Feel free to mix them up!
